Chatur Singh Rajpurohit
Alias: Jadugar Singhraj
Chatur Singh Rajpurohit (born 1 April 1958), popularly known by his stage name Jadugar Singhraj, is an Indian magician, social worker, and the creator of the Kuchaman style of Marwari Khayal—a traditional Rajasthani folk-theater form. Celebrated for his contributions to magic, education, and environmental awareness, he has received numerous state and national honors.
Born in the village of Rianbari in Nagaur district, Rajasthan, Chatur Singh belongs to the Jagarwal of the Rajpurohit community, a lineage historically associated with priesthood and scholarship. His father, Shri Pabudan Singh Rajpurohit, was a respected member of their agrarian household. Chatur Singh completed his secondary education before beginning a lifelong journey in public service and cultural promotion.
Government Service
On 27 February 1981, Chatur Singh joined the Rajasthan Forest Department, where he served with distinction until his retirement on 31 March 2018. His work earned him multiple commendations, including a "First Place in Rajasthan" award for outstanding performance during forest training.
Parallel to his government career, Chatur Singh became a dedicated advocate for adult literacy and environmental sustainability. He played an active role in national campaigns promoting education and conservation, often combining administrative insight with community engagement.
