Rajpurohit Community: A Discussion on Changing Times and the Threat of Inter-Caste Practices (Part-1)
The Rajpurohit community is a community of ancient warrior priests. It is a society that has followed the ancient concept of blood purity for thousands of years. People with light-colored eyes have been known for their intelligence, beauty, and valor, counted among the most beautiful people. The Rajpurohit community is renowned for its social harmony and is considered at the top of the religious and social hierarchy in Rajasthani society.
The world is changing rapidly. The Rajpurohit community is also experiencing change. Some changes may be good and some bad. However, unknowingly, certain undesirable practices like inter-caste marriage are creeping into the Rajpurohit community. This is causing significant damage to the cultural, social, and racial identity of the society on a large scale. How is this happening?
The children of a society are its resources. Meaning, the development of your society depends on the nature and actions of your children. The concept of humanity also applies to this principle...
If you wish to make a social contribution, it can also be done while remaining within the society. When children leave the community, it not only leads to social and economic loss but is also one step closer to the community's demise. The society is already grappling with a low population. Therefore, there is also a loss of the community's genetic heritage, which is the basic component of any society’s formation. The people of your society are people of your own DNA. It is the moral duty of every member of the society to protect their genetic and cultural heritage and establish the honor of their lineage. This is because it is universally known that we Rajpurohits are not Brahmins; our social and religious duties are far greater than those of other communities. We will discuss this thoroughly:
The Disadvantages Arising from Inter-Caste Practices:
Identity Crisis & Anxiety:
Inter-caste marriages bring about an identity crisis in the community, leading to its decline. It does not take long for a society to perish. This is a hidden, yet highly dangerous, cause. An identity crisis means not knowing your roots. In this situation, you either spend your energy finding and proving your own existence, or you become so disconnected from your roots that you do not care about your society, your people, or your future generations. This disorientation becomes the cause of that society's destruction.
Cultural Loss:
The Rajpurohit community is known for its rich culture and grandeur. Preserving one's culture is the basis for the existence of any community. Communities that are migrant or abandon their core culture gradually lose their ethnic sense. Simultaneously, the traditional knowledge of their ancestors is also destroyed. The decline of culture disconnects the individual from traditional knowledge and roots, leading the community towards a slow death. This destroys your community wisdom and creates a cultural void. This void is then filled by the forces of the market, and the community loses its own consciousness, becoming subservient to some market power.
Soft Power Loss:
Inter-caste marriage means marriage with a person from another class/caste/race/society. The inclusion of such a person into the Rajpurohit society means the loss of the credibility built over thousands of years by your ancestors' efforts. Your soft power begins to erode. Others start taking advantage of your identity. Due to the damage to your image, the blame for the bad deeds done by other societies is placed on your head. The loss of your soft power deeply damages your future generations. Your reputation is severely affected in your behavior, business, political, and social interactions. The entire society bears the result of an inter-caste marriage by a single individual.
Existential Crisis:
When an inter-caste marriage occurs, naturally, the next generation will follow. Such a generation is either disconnected from its ancestors or suffers from a deep existential crisis. In this situation, there is a very high chance that they might become followers of someone else. Since the offspring of such mixed lineage (Varna Sankara) lack a moral foundation, the possibility of misuse of the word 'Rajpurohit' increases further. Due to this, ordinary people in the society might seek moral support from them in such a situation, which is extremely detrimental to any caste or society.
Genetic Heritage Lost:
Misinformation and propaganda are often spread about any caste, especially the Rajpurohit caste, claiming they are mixed. Whereas, the Rajpurohit society contains a specific genetics. It is because of inherited intelligence that the society stands at a good position today. However, due to inter-caste marriage, the caste-specific genetics and epigenetics start getting damaged. DNA mixing begins with you, which cannot be diluted even after a thousand years. The beautiful Rajpurohit community will never be able to recover from this kind of damage. Damage to genetics affects everything. Your race changes. Your children fail to connect with your caste/society.
Loss of the Sense of Purity:
Rajpurohits are among the few societies in the world that have adopted the concept of blood purity. Because of this, despite a very small population, it has been a highly influential caste. When you marry someone from another society, your blood purity weakens. People from other castes join you with their shortcomings, which causes a heavy long-term loss to you. If the coming generation rejects this principle, the community slowly begins to move towards death due to mixing.
Demographic Loss:
The Rajpurohit society is also known for living in an organized form, which is why the existence of Kotaris, Ravalas and Thikanas (traditional administrative units) persisted. However, due to inter-caste marriage, people from other castes start gaining a foothold in the society, and the population of hybrid children and people from other societies increases in the community. A demographic shift leads to an existential crisis. This has serious short-term and long-term effects on the society.
Identity Anxiety:
Identity anxiety means being in doubt about one's identity. There is an intense possibility of this occurring in hybrid children. This anxiety gives rise to serious negative consequences. The individual is unable to focus on their normal life and spends their entire life trying to prove themselves. Inter-caste marriage results only in loss.
Lack of Heritage Pride:
People coming from inter-caste marriages and the generation born from them do not have the same attachment to your heritage or history as you do. They have no concern for it. Your heritage slowly begins to vanish, closing a chapter of history. There is no replacement for this kind of loss, as generations are spent in heritage development. The heritage, which symbolizes the sacrifice, devotion, and valor of the ancestors, loses its existence.
Betrayal Against Ancestral Pride and Sacrifice:
Your caste and body are not just yours. They are a reflection of your ancestors in you. It is due to the sacrifice of the ancestors that this caste has reached a position of being at the highest level in the entire Hindu religion. This plays a role in building our global image. Inter-caste marriage is a rebellion against those ancestors who sacrificed their lives and kept this identity intact in exchange for blood. This is against the self-respect of our ancestors. It is like crushing their sacrifice under your feet. Members of the society should refrain from this. (Continuous..)
