Thakur Bahad Singh Ji Gundecha was a prominent Rajpurohit feudal lord of Barwa Thikana in the Godwar region, belonging to the Gundecha sub-branch of the Rajpurohits — descendants of Thakur Acchal Singh Ji of Bera. The Barwa estate was among the influential Patvi Thikanas of the region, commanding over 40,000 bighas of land across seven core villages and adjoining territories.
He played a vital military role in the consolidation of Rajput power in Godwar during the 14th century, serving as a key ally to:
Rana Hammir Singh, in defeating Munja Balecha of Katargarh (Sewari) and the Bhil tribal chiefs who opposed Rajput expansion.
Rana Kshetra Singh, in subduing the Mer rebels, securing the Godwar belt for Mewar’s authority.
Due to his valor and strategic contributions, Thakur Bahad Singh Ji was entrusted with control over seven major villages — Karanwa, Lunawa, Sesli, Patawa, Miregeshwar, Punariya, and Barwa — along with portions of Boya and Bali. His Barwa estate was recognized as a Patvi Thikana for its historical loyalty and martial prestige in the Mewar polity.
