Sant Heeranand Ji Maharaj
Shri Hiranand Ji Maharaj (जन्म नाम: Hiralal Ji) (born Vikram Samvat 1953 – Brahmlin Vikram samvat 2033, Sawan badi 13) was a revered saint, social worker, and community leader of the Rajpurohit (Jagarwal Vansh) community. He is remembered for his spiritual journey, philanthropy, and contributions to the construction of the Rajpurohit Samaj Bhavan in Pushkar.
Shri Hiranand Ji was born in village Champakhedi, Tehsil Merta, District Nagaur on the auspicious day of Akha Teej in Vikram Samvat 1953. His father was Shri Ram Ji Rajpurohit (Jagarwal Vansh) and mother Sardar Bai, a native of Kuntalsar, District Churu.
His childhood education (Akshar Gyaan) was completed in his native village. In Vikram Samvat 1967, at the age of 14, he moved with his father to Gulbarga (Maharashtra), where he assisted in the family’s small Dal Mill business.
In Vikram Samvat 1970, Shri Hiranand Ji returned to his native place and married Raja Bai, daughter of Shri Jagannath Sewad of Ratanpura. After residing in the village for three years, the couple shifted to Gulbarga again and later returned permanently to Champakhedi in Vikram Samvat 1984.
He constructed a permanent house in the village. The couple had two sons and one daughter, but none survived. His mother passed away in Vikram Samvat 1992 and his father in Vikram Samvat 1995, after which he closed the Gulbarga business and settled in his native village.
Shri Hiranand Ji had one sister, Kesarbai, who was married to Shri Balsingh Ji, son of Shri Bakhtawar Singh Ji Sewad of Kolasar (District Churu).
The loss of his children, combined with his interest in pilgrimage and spiritual discourse, gradually turned him towards Vairagya (detachment). During his travels, he came into contact with several saints. In Vikram Samvat 2009, he formally took Diksha under Sant Shri Sevanand Ji of Palasgi, District Jodhpur, and embraced the life of a sadhu.
Shri Hiranand Ji was actively involved in community and religious events. He participated in Brahmbhoj and Gangajali ceremonies at Dhandhlas in Vikram Samvat 2011, where he strongly supported the proposal of constructing a Rajpurohit Samaj Bhavan in Pushkar.
He not only dedicated his services but also donated the compensation amount he received from Jagir acquisition towards the proposed building.
Shri Hiranand Ji Maharaj is remembered for:
His spiritual dedication under Sant Sevanand Ji.
His selfless service in community religious activities.
His philanthropic contribution to the Pushkar Rajpurohit Bhavan project.
