Kiran Rajpurohit
(born 15 November 1974) is an Indian writer, painter, translator, and cultural influencer known for her significant contributions to Rajasthani and Hindi literature. She is also actively involved in the Rajasthani language recognition movement and is a well-known face in the literary and cultural circles of Rajasthan.
Kiran Rajpurohit was born on 15 November 1974 to Lalsingh Rajpurohit of Manna ri Basni, Jodhpur, and Madan Kanwar Akherajot of Khedapa. She is married to Dr. Narendra singh Rajpurohit of Kharabera Purohitan, Jodhpur.
She completed her Master's degrees in Political Science and Rajasthani, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Political Science from Madhav University, Abu Road. Her doctoral research focuses on the topic: "Constitutional Recognition of Rajasthani Language: A Political Study."
Kiran Rajpurohit has authored numerous works in Rajasthani and Hindi, including poetry, short stories, children's literature, and columns. Her literary style reflects deep cultural roots, feminist perspectives, and a commitment to regional identity.

Her writings have appeared in over 20 national and regional anthologies, including:
Mandaan, Thar Saptak, Kurjan, Lugai Ne Kun Gai (poetry translation),

She also served as guest editor for the Lekhika Ank of Rajasthali (July–September 2021).
Rajpurohit has translated two major works and facilitated translations of Rajasthani poetry into Marathi, Maithili, and Nepali. Stories by Dr. Nri Singh Rajpurohit have also been translated under her guidance. She has presented several research papers in national literary forums and academic seminars.
Kiran Rajpurohit ‘Nitila’ is not only a distinguished writer but also an accomplished visual artist. Her contributions to painting began with the exhibition of two oil paintings in 2005, marking her formal entry into the field of visual arts. In 2006, she played a pivotal role by organizing Jodhpur’s first-ever painting seminar, reflecting her commitment to nurturing regional artistic dialogue.
Her sketches and drawings have been regularly published in prominent literary and cultural magazines such as Rajsthali, Srijan Kunj, Hans, Parikatha, and Sahitya Amrit. Additionally, her paintings and photographs have featured on the cover pages of various literary journals and books, further establishing her as a prominent visual contributor in the literary-artistic domain.
Her work blends literary expression with visual storytelling, offering a unique perspective rooted in Rajasthani culture. Through her illustrations and visual art, she has made a significant mark in the regional art community.
She acted in the Rajasthani short film Arj (2021). As a painter, she has held two solo exhibitions (2005) and organized Jodhpur’s first painting seminar (2006). Her sketches and paintings have been regularly published in leading magazines such as Hans, Parikatha, and Sahitya Amrit. Many of her artworks have been featured on book and magazine covers.

She is the co-secretary and media head of the Rajasthani Lekhika Sansthan (established in 2024), a registered organization supporting female Rajasthani writers. Rajpurohit is also known for her presence on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, where she shares traditional Rajasthani folk songs and cultural content.
