Raysal Mulrajot
After Rao Maldeo Rathore regained control over Jodhpur following the decline of Sher Shah Suri’s dominance, he launched multiple campaigns to reassert his authority in the region. One of these involved an expedition to Jaisalmer, historically ruled by the Bhati Rajputs.
In this campaign, Rao Maldeo dispatched a strong contingent led by:
Kunwar Raymal Rathore
Raysal Mulrajot (a prominent Rajpurohit and military leader)
Rathore Prithviraj Udavat
Rajpurohit Netoji
This coalition force marched towards Jaisalmer, and in the Talhati region, they carried out extensive military action including loot and destruction ("माऱ काट") to pressure the Bhatis. Despite the aggression, Rawal of Jaisalmer did not come out to face them and remained within the fort.
The only resistance came from Mulo, a Bhati servant (chaakar), who showed loyalty and bravery in defense of his Rawal. His name is remembered in local accounts as a rare example of Bhati resistance during this incident.
