Phoolasar
📍 Location: Region of Jaisalmer, Rajasthan
🏰 Jagirdar Clan: Siddhap Rajpurohits
🎖️ Origin of Grant: Pokarna Rathores of Pokhran
Phoolasar was granted as a Sasan Jagir to Chaturbhuj Singh Siddhap, most likely hailing from the Patodi ka Bas jagir of the Siddhap Rajpurohits by the Pokarna Rathores of Pokhran, a prominent noble branch of the Rathore dynasty. This grant was made as a token of gratitude for Chaturbhuj Singh's courageous and diplomatic intervention in freeing a royal member of the Pokarna Rathore family who had been imprisoned in Jaisalmer jail by the Maharawal of Jaisalmer.
Chaturbhuj Singh paid a large sum of gold mohars (coins) to secure their release, showcasing his bravery, loyalty, and influence. In return, the Pokarna Rathores granted him the fertile and strategically located estate of Phoolasar.
This grant was approved by Rao Lunkaran Pokarna with the consensus of a Sarv Samiti of 42 Rathore Khedas, making Phoolasar the 43rd Kheda—the only Rajpurohit Kheda among 42 Rathore ones. Earlier, whenever any major decision took place in Pokaran, Phoolasar’s presence was mandatory.
Phoolasar is located on the tri-junction of the boundaries of:
Dantal
Gadhi Champawatan
Falsund
This positioning made it not only a vital outpost but also a culturally rich jagir that remained vigilant in defending Rajpurohit honor and Hindu dharma.
Phoolasar is home to several heroic memorials and temples dedicated to warriors (Jhujhars) and satis, symbolizing centuries of courage and sacrifice by the Siddhap clan:

Additionally, there are several shrines for family deities and local protectors. Phoolasar also has 1 big and 2 small ponds (talabs) that support water storage and rituals.

In Phoolasar jagir, many Sindhi Muslims reside who are considered subjects (riaya) of the jagirdars. These include Manganiyars, the traditional bards who sing songs in praise of the Siddhap Rajpurohit family. They actively partake in the Rehan Sabha held during Diwali in the Kotdis of the Siddhap jagirdars.
Phoolasar continued its tradition of valor and leadership into the British and post-independence era. Notable individuals include:
Gourav Singh Rajpurohit – IPS Officer
Major Multan Singh Rajpurohit – Veteran of World War II
Dr. Surya Pratap Singh Rajpurohit – Captain, Indian Army Medical Corps
Hari Singh Rajpurohit – Income Tax Inspector
