Sati Sodhi ji
Sati Sodhi Ji was a revered Rajpurohit woman from Rajasthan, known for her act of self-immolation following the death of her husband, Prohit Mahendras Das Ji. She committed sati on the 13th day (Trayodashi) of the dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha) in the month of Bhadrapada, on a Thursday, in Vikram Samvat 1846 (equivalent to 1789 CE).
Her act of sati is remembered as a symbol of unwavering devotion, courage, and adherence to dharma, reflective of the cultural ethos of her time. A sati memorial (Sati Sthal) was reportedly established in her honor, which continues to be a site of local reverence.
