Vimal Muni Ji Maharaj
Vimal Muniji Maharaj (born Madan Singh, Magh Shukla Panchami, Vikram Samvat 1990 – died, date unknown) was an Indian saint of the Udasi sect. He is remembered for his monastic life, spiritual discipline, and his donation of ancestral land in Pushkar to the Rajpurohit Panchayat Bhavan Sansthan.
Vimal Muniji Maharaj was born in the village of Paliyawas, Tehsil Jaitaran (Rajasthan), to Shri Baal Singh Ji and Shrimati Ugama Devi. He had two brothers and belonged to the Jarganiya Purohit family. His birth name was Madan Singh.
From an early age, he showed a preference for solitude and spirituality. His formal education remained limited, and he received only basic learning at home.
At the age of eighteen, Madan Singh went to Swargashram, Rishikesh, where the spiritual environment left a lasting impression on him. He accepted Brahmacharya (celibacy and spiritual discipline) and spent nearly 15 years as a Brahmachari under Swami Ramsukh Das Ji Maharaj.
During one Chaturmas in Calcutta, he came in contact with Mahamandaleshwar Ganeshwaranand Ji, whose discourses inspired him deeply.
In Vikram Samvat 2026 (Kartik Shukla Ashtami), he was initiated into Sannyas in Delhi, formally joining the Udasi sect and taking the name Vimal Muni.
Vimal Muni donated about 2,000 square yards of his ancestral land in Pushkar, located near the Ajmer–Pushkar road. He did not retain any share of the property for himself.
This land was given to the Rajpurohit Panchayat Bhavan Sansthan. Later, Bhootad Sant Shri Ji began the tradition of Bhandara (free community meals) on the premises.
Vimal Muniji Maharaj is remembered for his renunciation, simplicity, and service to society. His donation to the Rajpurohit Panchayat Bhavan Sansthan remains a significant contribution, and the Rajpurohit community continues to acknowledge his role in strengthening community institutions.
