Ram Kishor Ji Maharaj was born in 1918 in Dhabar village, Pali district, Rajasthan, into a Rajpurohit family. His father was Shri Bhaironsingh Ji Rajpurohit, and his mother was Smt. Kesharbai Ji.
At the age of 9, he was initiated into Sannyasa by Ramsnehi saint Kaaraj Ram at Gangapur, Rajasthan. He studied scriptures of the Ramsnehi Sampradaya and broader Hindu philosophy, residing at Ramdwaras in Khurja (Bulandshahar) and Charkhewalan, Delhi, under the guidance of Gyani Ram.
Although rooted in spirituality, Ram Kishor Ji’s work extended far beyond the religious sphere:
National Movements:
Participated in the Delhi Shiv Mandir Satyagraha (1939), imprisoned for two months.
Participated in Arya Samaj Satyagraha at Hyderabad (1938).
Inspired public unity during the Indo-China and Indo-Pak wars.
Women’s Upliftment:
Believed women to be the foundation of nation-building.
Promoted their education and empowerment.
Tribal & Downtrodden Welfare:
Worked to improve education, safety, and living standards for marginalized groups.
Reform Against Orthodoxy:
Upheld faith in ancient principles but opposed blind and meaningless customs.
Character Building:
Spread values of truth, service, and moral conduct through sermons and satsangs.
Ram Kishor Ji Maharaj was appointed the 13th Acharya of Ramsnehi Sampradaya on Chaitra Shukla Ashtami, Vikram Samvat 2016 (1960 CE), succeeding Darshan Ram Ji Maharaj.
He modernized the Sampradaya’s outreach by permitting travel via car and plane from 1972 onwards, replacing the founder’s traditional travel-on-foot rule. This enabled him to spread the teachings of Ram Charan Maharaj widely, both in India and abroad — including visits to Bangkok, Singapore, Malaya, Australia, and Fiji.
He established temporary Ramsnehi centres at Kumbh Melas in Ujjain, Prayag, and Haridwar, and launched the Sri Ram Snehi Bhaskar magazine to extend the reach of the Ramdwara’s message.
Ram Kishor Ji founded the Ramsnehi Sanskrit Vidyalaya at Shahpura, offering free education in Sanskrit to children from all communities, following the Gurukul tradition while incorporating digital learning methods.
Ram Kishor Ji Maharaj passed away on 8 January 1994 at Padra, Gujarat. He was succeeded as Acharya by Ram Dayal Ji Maharaj. His final resting place is the Shanti Sthala at Ram Niwas Dham, Shahpura.
This is the samadhi of the 13th head of Ramsnehi Sampradaya, Ram Kishor. It is located in Ramniwas Dham, Shahpura, Bhilwara.
Ram Kishor Ji is remembered not just as a Ramsnehi saint, but as a social reformer whose work in education, women’s empowerment, national unity, and humanitarian service transcended sectarian boundaries.
