Naroji thakursinghot gundecha
In the illustrious year of 1669 AD, amidst the turbulence brought forth by the flooding of the sacred Mithdi River, the valiant and far-sighted Jagirdar Thakur Naroji Gundecha—a scion of the martial Rajpurohit lineage—undertook the noble task of founding a new seat of power. Choosing the southern bank of the Mithdi for its strategic elevation and enduring promise, he established Barwa, leaving the right bank (present-day Karanwa) under the stewardship of the noble Kikawat and the seven Gundecha Jagirdar households.
With the foresight of a statesman and the generosity of a Dharmakarta, Thakur Naroji granted fertile lands and enduring rights to the Mali cultivators, Vaishnav saints, and the revered Rao Bhatt genealogists, thus securing not only the prosperity of his dominion but also the spiritual and agrarian wellbeing of his people.
His legacy is etched in stone and soul alike—preserved in the shilalekhs and inscriptions that still echo the tale of Barwa's noble foundation and the magnanimity of its founding lord
