Soma ji Kedariya, Sarangwas
It is said that Kshetrapal was the son of Maa Brahmani, who came from Kashi to Mandore, and from there, he arrived at Sonana. Upon reaching Sonana, he appeared before Kedariya Rajpurohit Somaji, who became his devoted follower.
Since then, Somaji’s descendants have been the main priests responsible for worship and rituals at the Shri Sonana Khetlaji Temple. They held immense devotion toward Shri Sonana Khetlaji. In honor of their service, a copperplate inscription (tamrapatra) was issued in their name by the then Maharana of Mewar in Samvat 1458.
Later, in the same family, Somaji Kedariya sacrificed his life while protecting cows. To preserve her chastity and uphold her virtue, his wife Wali Deviji committed Sati in front of the temple in Samvat 1462.
