Pemal Ji Panchlod
Panchlod Shri Pemal Ji served as the court priest Rajpurohit to the Bhayal rulers of the Garh Siwana kingdom, and his principal estate (jagir) was the village of Ramaniya.
According to historical records obtained from the genealogical scroll (bahi) of Thikana Chawanda, the estate of Veer Tejoji, the grandson of Pemal Ji: Pemal Ji was the jagirdar of Ramaniya village of Panchlod. He held the honored position of "Rajpurohit" in the court of the most illustrious ruler of the Bhayal branch of the Parmar dynasty of Garh Siwana—Ruler Sajjan Bhayal.
After a victorious battle, the Charan bards composed and sang this couplet (dohā) in his praise:
Translation- Rajpurohit Pemal Ji of Panchlod was such a great warrior that, fighting alongside Sajjan Bhayal, he killed a Mughal prince named Memad Gauri in battle while defending against invaders.
As mighty as an elephant in strength, the valiant Pemal Ji of Panchlod demonstrated immense generosity upon their victory in battle. He became such a great donor that, in celebration of the victory, he joyfully bestowed his genealogist Raoji with a grand offering that included one lakh pasav (a traditional value unit), rubies, pearls, gold, and more. He also gifted 300 gold coins, a jagir (estate) of a place called Ambadi, and even an elephant.
This brave Pemal Ji Panchlod belonged to the lineage of Rishi Parashar and was a descendant of Veerm. Such a heroic and generous Pemal Ji truly deserves to be honored and celebrated a million times over.
