Kanot
The Kanot is a Rajpurohit sub-clan descending from Kan Singh Ji Farsaramot. Members of this lineage adopted the title Kanot in honor of their ancestor. The Kanots have historically played a prominent role in the political and military affairs of the Bikaner Kingdom, located in present-day Rajasthan, India.
The Kanot clan held 14 prominent jagirs (feudal land grants) under the Bikaner state and were recognized as Tikayats, a noble title denoting their elevated status within the royal hierarchy. They were often appointed to key administrative and military positions, most notably that of the Commander-in-Chief of the Bikaner armed forces. These villages are:
